Uma solenidade realizada nesta quinta-feira (31/10) marcou a entrega do novo tomógrafo do Hospital Eduardo de Menezes (HEM), da Fundação Hospitalar do Estado de Minas Gerais (Fhemig), unidade localizada em Belo Horizonte. O equipamento, com 16 cortes e alta resolução de imagem, é avaliado em R$ 1,2 milhão. O investimento irá garantir ainda mais segurança e comodidade aos pacientes, com aumento expressivo na quantidade de exames realizados mensalmente. A expectativa é de que a demanda aumente de 130 para até 300 tomografias por mês.
O aparelho de tomografia computadorizada atenderá pacientes internados e ambulatoriais, proporcionando a realização dos exames em prazos mais curtos, sem necessidade de deslocamento para outras unidades assistenciais. O equipamento apresenta performance suficiente para o atendimento das demandas infectocontagiosas mais frequentes, como detecção de focos infecciosos, casos de tuberculose e lesões oportunistas no sistema nervoso central.
A agilidade no diagnóstico é fundamental para o sucesso do tratamento e fornece informações de relevância para o raciocínio clínico da equipe, sendo considerada uma ferramenta de grande valor na complementação da prática assistencial.

O secretário de Estado de Saúde de Minas Gerais, Fábio Baccheretti, destacou a importância do tomógrafo para a assistência hospitalar. “O equipamento simboliza um atendimento de mais qualidade e também melhores condições de trabalho. É muito bom ter a oportunidade de fazer isso virar realidade. O Hospital Eduardo de Menezes brilhou, durante a pandemia, no atendimento à covid-19, e a Fhemig merece todo reconhecimento. Nosso papel, como gestores, é continuar buscando investimentos de forma contínua”, afirmou.
A presidente da Fhemig, Renata Ferreira Leles Dias, salientou que o empenho dos servidores na conquista do aparelho para a unidade foi fundamental. “Vocês lutaram por isso e conseguimos adquirir o tomógrafo. Precisamos executar projetos e ampliar nossa capacidade, para que cada vez mais pessoas possam ser atendidas pelas unidades da Fhemig. A entrega desse equipamento hoje é uma ótima resposta”, disse.

Para a diretora do HEM, Virgínia Antunes de Andrade, a inauguração do tomógrafo é um momento histórico. “O tomógrafo foi planejado, sonhado, e hoje está aqui dentro. Um equipamento que vai agregar à qualidade assistencial, ao conforto do paciente, diminuindo custos com transporte. Nossos pacientes são complexos e os exames de imagem, especialmente a tomografia, fornecem mais agilidade, reduzindo nosso tempo de internação, melhorando a qualidade do atendimento e somando valor para o paciente do SUS”, enfatizou.
A coordenadora do setor de imagem do HEM, Marcia Gregory Tavares Melo, afirmou que a entrega do tomógrafo é a realização de um sonho. “Vai nos trazer ainda mais segurança, com diagnóstico precoce, intervenção mais rápida e assistência de mais qualidade aos pacientes do SUS”, destacou. A vice-presidente da Fhemig, Patrícia Albergaria, também participou da solenidade e pontuou sobre a atenção integral aos usuários.
Além do tomógrafo, a solenidade marcou também a entrega do novo setor de imagem do HEM. Para receber o equipamento, a área passou por reforma, cujo recurso veio do Acordo de Reparação pela tragédia de Brumadinho assinado entre o Governo de Minas, instituições de justiça e a Vale. Com a verba, foram realizadas várias intervenções no hospital, entre 2020 e 2022, no total de R$ 8,3 milhões.
O Hospital Eduardo de Menezes é referência estadual no atendimento aos casos de doenças infectocontagiosas e teve atuação reconhecida na pandemia da covid-19.
