O Aeroporto de São José dos Campos recebe nesta semana três operações especiais de carga com aeronaves consideradas ícones na aviação mundial.
Na terça-feira (21), dois aviões Antonov AN-12, modelo fabricado na época da União Soviética, vão aterrissar no terminal por volta das 16h, com intervalo de cerca de meia hora.
As aeronaves já saíram de Montreal e farão escalas técnicas em Santo Domingo (República Dominicana) e Belém (PA) antes do pouso em São José.
Com comprimento de 33,1 metros, o Antonov AN12 é um turboélice de quatro motores, tem capacidade de 20 toneladas, e só é visto no Brasil quando contratado para operações pontuais sob demanda.

Na sexta-feira (24), será a vez do aeroporto receber um Boeing 767 da Air Canada. A companhia aérea canadense havia encerrado o transporte de carga com esse tipo de aeronave, mas retomou recentemente as operações com o aquecimento global do mercado.
A previsão é que a aeronave pouse à 1h35 da madrugada e retorne às 15h35 do mesmo dia para o voo AC-7051, com destino a Lima, no Peru.
Segundo a direção da concessionária SJK Aiport, a operação conjunta dos três aviões trará cargas especiais sob encomenda de uma grande empresa de São José dos Campos.
O aeroporto do município foi transferido sob concessão à iniciativa privada em novembro de 2022. Desde maio deste ano, ele conta com voo regular de carga na rota Miami-São José dos Campos, passando por outros países da América do Sul. A expectativa é que novas operações possam ser iniciadas nos próximos meses.
